Back in March, Lindsey and I met up at the gym to lift a few weights and take a few photos.
I will have to admit that it had been a while since I had really used any of my lights. Part of me wondered if they would even work and if they did, would I remember how to use them. I checked all of my gear the day before and showed up about an hour early to unload and start putting everything in place.
I was also not entirely sure on just what I wanted to create. We both were going to play it by ear, somewhat, and see what we could create. We created and reviewed a list of movements that we wanted to try and capture so the goal from there was to creatively light each one to make them as unique as possible. I also had to be creative with the setup. In a few shots, I pulled together 4 Rogue Fitness box jumps and used them as blockers for rim lighting.
By far, my favorite came from the PLM and the beautiful light it produced. Here is an unedited shot slightly showing some of the setup. The edited version is included in the selected shots later in the post.
Overall, we were both pretty happy with the results. This is only part one, with another shoot already in the planning stages. In the meantime, here are a few selects to look at.
